Miss Tulip...

Meet Miss Tulip. She's one of my sister's cats. Rebecca (the mommy cat) had a litter of several kittens a few years back and Rob and I almost took Tulip as our own. I wanted her Soooo bad. But looking back I'm glad we didn't adopt her because then Yogi & Parker wouldn't be in our lives. Tulip got her name from the perfect tulip-shaped marking between her ears, which is kinda funny since you can barely see the marking now. She's a sweet little thing, very inquisitive, and like most cats, a little neurotic.

Shellers...

After Hello Dolly! and Daniel's we headed back to my parent's house. I don't know if it was the Chardonnay or the huge branch that fell while we were gone but somehow my sister and I ended up doing an impromptu photo session in the front yard. Michelle has always been photogenic and has always liked hamming it up for the camera. Had to sneak mom and me in there too.

My Wish...

So I added a couple new sections to my blog today, one of them being a music player. I have a few main loves in life: Rob, my dogs, my family, good food, taking pictures and listening to music. I can literally spend hours on my computer working or doing stuff with pics while listening to my favorite songs. For me music is so emotional, so soul searching and soul filling. It heals me. And I always have a favorite song that I keep playing on repeat. It changes from day to day and mood to mood but I've always been a repeater! So my blog music player will play that ONE song that's stuck in my heart and mind that day. I hope you'll check it out, you may hear something new that you like (or don't like, which is fine too!).

Hello Dolly!

Last Sunday my mom, sister and I saw Hello Dolly! at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle. We actually wanted to see the Lion King but by the time we looked online for tickets the show run had ended. Slackers! :) But we were just as happy to see Hello Dolly. This was my first time to the 5th Ave Theatre. It's this old, dark, kind of ornate theatre. Pics aren't allowed inside but if you ever get a chance to see a show there you should. We all enjoyed the show. The costumes were colorful, the singing was good and Jennifer Lewis did a great job as Dolly. She really stole the show. Afterwards we hit up Daniel's happy hour in Seattle (you know how much I love their bacon wrapped scallops!!). It was just a fun girl's day out. Thanks for the great day ladies!

Welcome Spring!

So today marks the first day of Spring. And it was a wet one! We had showers off and on all day but I love this time of year. It smells so crisp and fresh outside and everything looks so green from all the rain. Time to get the yard ready, play in the dirt and plant flowers, put out the outdoor furniture... Now if only I could find someone else to do all the work... things would be perfect!

Boring Blogger...

Yes, I've been a boring blogger lately, I know. But I've been working some Reeeally long hours and with the weather being so cold out its kind of squelched my outdoor plans. Besides, life in the M household has been pretty mundane since we got sick, we've just been taking it easy the last couple weeks which was probably needed anyway. I have some pics to post but after working 10-12 hour days lately the last thing I want to do is sit at my computer even a minute longer (I feel like my eyes are mirrored little computer screens already!) I'll start posting again soon. On another note I'm so excited Spring is (kind of) here! It's been beautiful out but cold. Hope everyone is doing well!

Winter in Spring...

It's March in Seattle, shouldn't it be raining by now? These are from Monday, it snowed about four inches at our place. I love the snow but I really hope this is the last of it. I'm ready for Spring.

I love it how...

He wants to be a part of everything I do.

Gone County...

While Rob was sleeping his cold off last Saturday I headed to Country Village in Bothell for a quiet afternoon of windowshopping and picture taking. Hadn't been there in a while so it was kind of fun. I didn't take any pics inside the shops but they have some really cute, knick-knacky stuff if you're into that kind of thing. The Village also houses a few restaurants, has stuff for kids to do and they host different seasonal events throughout the year.

Mother Hen...

Country Village is home to one sassy Chicken. In the five minutes I watched her she attacked the male Rooster and also went after a duck. She certainly wanted to be the center of everyone's attention!

The Rooster...

Before I saw any of the animals I HEARD the Rooster. He was quite a vocal bird which surprised me because I thought Roosters only sang when the sun rises? Maybe he's confused. Anyway, he was very colorful and pretty. There was also a little black puffy chicken that I found super cute. He kind of reminded me of a cartoon character or something.

What the Duck??

Ha Ha. There were lots of ducks at Country Village. I had fun watching them swim, sunbathe and look for handouts from small children around the pond in the middle of the shops.

Home Sick...

What a waste this week has been. I've had THE most terrible cold of my adult life. I don't know if I've actually Ever been so sick?--So congested, so achey, so feverish... It sucks... Bad. As a child I always had really mild fevers. I'd sneakily try to make the thermometor higher by holding it's tip to my light when my parents left the room (yes, bad I know!). I'm thinking this is payback time? The only good thing is I look quite refreshed from all the extra sleep I'm getting, I've missed two days of work and will be using this weekend to get back to normal. I hope you're all taking your vitamins/Airborne and staying healthy!

The Sickies...

So this has been the sight at our house for the last 6 days. Rob came down with a terrible cold Friday that laid him up ALL weekend. Like fever of 102.9(no joke), hit by a truck, can't move/eat/think kind of cold. Despite my best attempts to keep the house aired out, wash my hands like a 100 times a day and pump the vitamin C now I'm the miserable one. I think when you share the same air as someone it's pretty much impossible. I'm just bummed cause I wanted to see Talan this weekend but now I'll have to wait untill this cold goes away. Lame.
