Something Sunny...

We've been getting a lot of rain lately so I wanted to post something sunny. This is the English Lavender plant from our front walkway. I love Lavender! It smells sooooo good. And it's purple! And low maintenance. You plant it then forget it. And never have to do anything to keep it alive. It just keeps coming back year after year. Definitely my kind of plant...

You know it's Friday the 13th...

When you can't sleep past 4:15am... almost lock yourself out of the house... burn your homemade breakfast... AND get stuck in a torrential downpour walking the dogs (even though you had an umbrella but you left it on the porch because it wasn't raining at all when you left!!) Luck has not been on my side this morning...

I Heart Fall...

There's so many things I love about this time of year. Like the smell of cinnamon harvest candles wafting through the house. And windy days. And making comfort food. But mostly I love how beautiful everything gets outside. When all the leaves change from green to beautiful reds, yellows and golds. Sometimes when I'm walking Yogi and Parker I have to stop to admire their crisp, vibrant colors.

Pumpkins...

I love fat, happy, orange pumpkins. There's just something cheery about them. And I love that they're everywhere this time of year. We don't carve them anymore but I always buy two for the front porch anyway...

Dog Bugs...

I love Halloween because you get to dress up in funny costumes. And make your dogs wear silly outfits too. I realize they're not thrilled to be wearing these. They hated them last year too. But I laugh so much whenever they wear clothes... I wish they loved dressing up much as I do...

What I've been up to lately...

So I realize there's been a lack of blogging on my part lately especially these last few months. But that doesn't mean life has been boring. There's actually been a lot going on! Union, WA...

A few weeks ago we were in Union, WA checking out our friends wedding site at a private home overlooking the peaceful Hood Canal. The house has a 180 degree view of the Canal and has such a relaxed feel to it that you seriously de-stress the minute you walk in the door. It's full of windows and light and has the cutest beach decorations everywhere. (And their pets are the sweetest things ever. One of the dogs was even named "Sweetie..." I wanted to take her home with me!) Everyone agreed it's the perfect place for an intimate ceremony.

Nice View...

Seen...

On a recent trip to Union, Washington. If one of my daily concerns in life was where to park either of these things...
I think I'd have a pretty good life! :)

Kids... {Gracie}

Recently my friend Tierra and I tried to do a mini photo session with her (adorable!) daughter Gracie. Let me tell you, this girl is on the move! I think I got more pics of her walking away from me than anything else but luckily I got some good headshots too. Gracie is so cute and always so much fun to be around. Love this girl.

Wishful Thinking...

Wish I had a green thumb. Because if I did, I'd grow big, pink puffy dahlias like these. But I'm no gardener. I hate weeding and my plants never last more than two weeks. So instead I admire my neighbors flowers. Every day. While I walk the dogs. And wish to myself that I had a pretty yard filled with flowers too. Maybe next year...

Old Friends...

I was in college when I met Tammi and Shannon. And although we don't see eachother often (sometimes only a few times a year!) it's always nice when we do. This picture is actually from this summer but it's the most recent one I have. Last night the three of us met up for dinner. And over a good meal we caught up on everything going on in eachother's lives. As I drove home last night I found myself thinking that I'm so thankful for the friendship of these two wonderful people. Thankful they're still in my life after all of these years. And how it's nice to know people who've known you from the start. Friends who are there through thick and thin, who share in life's ups and downs and everything in between. I am lucky to call you my friends. Let's get together again soon, ladies, I love you!
